"Pirate's Catch," an original 18x24" acrylic on canvas, is my weathered fish skeleton adrift in a submerged field of teal, jade, and rust — a seahorse and scattered shell fragments drifting at the edges like relics I pulled up from some forgotten wreck. I built this one in patient layers of pigment and cracked, aged texture, until the surface felt less like something painted and more like something salvaged. Cool blues and greens dominate, but I let warm ochre and rust bleed through in places — because underneath it all, I was looking for warmer waters. It continues my exploration of symbol and surface as vessels for memory, in the same spirit as previous work collectors have responded to. For those drawn to pieces that feel unearthed rather than made, "Pirate's Catch" is my invitation to sit with something still in motion, still searching, long after the current carried it here.
